Sunsilk Weather Defense

I have a no-fuss routine for my hair. Except for the yearly rebonding session and quarterly trips to the salon for cut and color, I do nothing else but shampoo and condition. Okay, once in a while I get a treatment or do one at home. But that's about it.

One of the things I like doing though is alternating shampoo and conditioner brands. They say you don't have to stick to just one brand forever. It's best to change brands regularly. I've been using the Pantene Nature Care line for months now, since I first discovered it at a duty free supermarket in Clark. I was glad it soon became available in Manila. I was really happy with that and I still have some left, to be honest.

But this new line of Sunsilk's has gotten my attention. I got the shampoo and conditioner today and used it for the first time when I took my evening shower. I love the scent! It's not overpowering, not too flowery. In fact, it's kinda fruity which is what I like. The scent of the conditioner is another story, however. I have yet to come across a conditioner whose smell I like.

It's been more than an hour since I stepped out of the shower and my hair is now 90% dry. The result? Super soft. I love it. In all fairness to Pantene, I get the same result when I use it. So, it's safe to say that I'll be alternating these two for now.

Beauty Finds : Sunsilk Straight to Perfection and Olay Beauty Bar

The shampoo is not new to me. I've been using it for a few months now and although through the years, I've been switching from one brand to another, I think I've found THE brand I'm gonna stick to for a while.

Been using the one in the purple bottle, Sunsilk Straight to Perfection. Most of the time and even with my rebonded hair, I don't even need to use conditioner. I just do when I'm in the mood to blowdry or style my hair after a shower. Otherwise, just with the shampoo I'm good to go. I also love that the scent is not overpowering and is fruity with a hint of strawberry. My 14 yr old claims she likes it too, so everytime I go to the grocery I make sure to grab two sets, one for each of us.

The bottles you see in the photo above are the imported packaging. These are the bottles I get when I'm in Puregold Subic. In Manila though, they're packed differently but use the same bottle color.

My most recent switch is the one I made to Olay Beauty Bar, Age Defying variant. I've seen and read a lot of good reviews about this line so I made the big jump from body washes to this. I admit, it's not as convenient to use vs. the liquid type. But it's extremely lathery, I don't need to use much on my bath lily. Again, I'm big on scents and this one isn't overpowering either. I've already stocked up on a few more bars after buying just one to try out. After a few showers, I decided I was going to use this for a while.

It comes in other variants too : Fresh Reviving and Ultra Moisture with Shea Butter. They all promise younger-looking skin in just 7 showers. Hmmm...we'll see about that!

Meantime, I hope you all give these a try. They're really worth it!

Beauty Loot

First, thanks to the numerous positive reviews on GirlTalk, I placed an order for these at Vanilla and Company. From left to right : Pearl Dry Oil Mist, Deliciously Moisturizing Body Wash (in Olives and Vanilla), Hair and Body Mist and 60-second Tress De-Stressor. I made my choices based on what I need and what people have been raving about. The prices are very reasonable. My total bill for this loot (including shipping to my place) was P734. I'm going to try all of them tomorrow and write a review on each.

I'm a real sucker for any beauty product that has the word STRAIGHT printed on it. So the Sunsilk Straight and Sway line is something I've been dying to try out. That's how much I hate my naturally wavy hair! I don't know if these really work but I'm more than willing to see if they do their job. Besides, they won't hurt your wallet too much. There's actually a 4th product in this line and it's some type of wax but Anissa already has that so I can share it with her.
