Wide Leg Pants

Yup, I jumped on that bandwagon, too. Searched high and low for the perfect pair, almost ordered from a famous local fashion site but opted for one off the rack --- from Forever 21, where else? For less than P1,500.

The material is silky, not stretchy. So I had to make sure about the fit. I hate trying clothes on in the stores but I had to make an exception for this one. It was extra ordinarily long when I first got them. Luckily, I live a stone's throw away from a neighborhood modista who does alterations quickly and a lot cheaper than the mall-based ones. I asked him to cut it to floor length, so I can wear it with flats or heels.

In the photo, I'm wearing 3.5" wooden clogs (sorry, the shoes are hardly noticeable) from Forever 21. Come to think of it, except for the purse, everything is from Forever 21 (orange striped light knit top). Oh and the belt came with the pants!

Now thinking if I should grab a pair in another color ... or two. What do you think?

Forever 21

I've only been to Forever 21 (Megamall) about 3-4x since it opened. All those times, I just happened to be in Megamall for something else but since I was already there and I don't frequent Megamall, I went. Today was probably the longest time I ever spent in the store. Anissa and I purposely went because our afternoon was spent shopping for holiday gifts. After getting a lot of stuff from the SM Department Store (I'm amazed at how much they've leveled up in terms of merchandise), we headed to Forever 21 to look for gifts for the girls in the family. We didn't have much time left though, so we were able to grab a lot less than we had hoped. Which means we need to go back, perhaps on a weekday again, so that we won't have to deal with a thick crowd.

While there, I decided to do a really thorough inspection of their Accessories section. I was on the lookout for some pieces that I intend to use to dress up a plain outfit that I'm planning to wear to a wedding in two weeks. I spent a good half an hour choosing because seriously, it's easy to get dizzy while going through all the stuff! I'm so happy with what I ended up with.

The bracelet is quite pricey at more than P800 but it's quite understandable because it's double the width of the others I saw, plus it had bling all over. I spent about P1,500 for all of these. Definitely a good deal. Other than this, I also scored a dress for just P665. I'll share it sometime soon, when I decide to wear it.

Forever 21 is undoubtedly the place to go for very affordable clothing, shoes, bags and accessories. Given the chance, my teenager would go there every weekend. My toddler though, thinks that the Kids Section could be bigger LOL!

Best compliment ever!

I normally don't take note of the outfits I wear on a daily basis but allow me to make an exception. As I was stepping out to a lunch meeting yesterday, Anissa who was home from school said to me

Mom, that's the best thing I've seen you wear so far!

At first, I joked her about what she said and I asked her if she thought all this time that my clothes are baduy (outdated).  Of course she laughed and clarified her statement.  Whether or not she was trying to inch her way out of an awkward situation, I really don't care.  I almost never get compliments from my teenager so this one felt extra special.

So what was I wearing?  I honestly didn't have a difficult time putting it together.

Inner : Linen long top, Zara Woman
Topper : Chiffon printed jacket from Toppicks Couture (Facebook)
Bottom : Black skinny jeans, Forever 21
Shoes : Nude platform stilettos, Aldo

Did I survive in those 4.5" heels?  For a few hours, yes I did!

Thank you, my dearest girl, for that absolutely wonderful compliment!
It made my day!

Forever21 Online Shopping Rocks!

I tried ordering from their US website, and had the stuff shipped directly to my door. First time I've done this since I usually just ride on a friend's regular orders. Crossing my fingers, I clicked on the check-out button and hoped the package would get to me without a long wait, ridiculous taxes or missing items.

Fast forward to a little over a week since I finalized my orders and VOILA! The box was in tact, orders complete and the best part? NO ADDITIONAL TAXES! I truly woke up to a beautiful morning when this arrived!

I kept thinking to myself, I should've bought more. But I wanted to play it safe since I had never tried doing this myself before. Now I know how it works and that it works well so I can maybe do it again soon hahaha!

This is my favorite among all the things I ordered

These clogs were originally priced at $30 but were on sale at half off!
Too bad Anissa can't borrow them from me because she's already a full size bigger.
She'll be able to take advantage of the clothes I got, though. More savings right there!

Visit Forever 21 for some hassle-free, online shopping FUN!

Yay for Yellow!

I'm so glad people are loving the color yellow right now.  It's always been my favorite color and lately I've been looking out for all things yellow! =)Here are some personal picks from Wetseal and Forever21:

Crinkle Patent Flats
$10

Linked Circles Cuff
$6.80
I want to order this one! =)
Clear Tote
$26.80
Cancun Denim Short
$19.80
Drawstring Screen Patch Capri
$10.00
Keyhole Heart Burnout Top
$14.50

A recent, long overdue trip to the mall (gosh I haven't seen Power Plant in AGES!) made me realize that this color has indeed become quite popular. I saw several yellow tops in Kamiseta, Bayo (mostly mustard though), Topshop, Dorothy Perkins and even in Plains and Prints.  Yummy yummy yellows are everywhere and I love it!  It's such a perky color, don't you think?

Note:  This post was inspired by Angel of Flairinthecity who recently blogged about this trend as well.
