The BEST Brownies Ever!

Do you know where you'll find the yummiest brownies? As far as my family is concerned, in Manila nothing beats Becky's Kitchen. But this obscure place in Boracay is definitely a bigger winner as well!

REAL COFFEE in Station 1 is tucked away behind the restaurants and other commercial establishments located along the shoreline. But it's not difficult to spot at all. It's in that "eskinita" a few steps away from Yellow Cab Pizza. Once you turn into the small street you'll see it right away.

Both Anissa and Neal are addicted to the thick brownie slices. They always remember to drop by whenever we're there. In fact, we were just a few hours away from leaving the resort for Manila when Anissa begged me to take the tricycle ride to Station 1 so that she could bring a bag home. At P55 a piece, it sounds quite steep but I tell you, it's really worth it.

Don't forget to drop by when you're in Boracay!

Summer Glorious Summer!

I'm weird. The summer heat really makes me irritable. But make me choose between summer and winter and I'll always choose the former. Most of you would agree that summer is here quite early this year and it's actually a bit scary, if you think about it. What with all these changes brought about by Global Warming.

I am looking forward to having fun this summer though. As always...the plans are being arranged as I type. There are talks of beach trips with my friends and my family and even a HK vacation for Sabine's 3rd birthday in April so she can personally meet KeeKee Mouse (hehehe that's Mickey Mouse, of course). I'm hoping to add Baguio to the itinerary so that we can take a breather from the Metro Manila heat.

I've started looking at all the stuff I need to get for everyone : new swimsuits, sunblock (already bought a spray bottle of Coppertone from Duty Free for the kids), flip flops and sandals, straw totes, duffle bags, tank tops, board shorts, coverups --- the works! I even bought a cute beachmat already!

I'm still dying to go back to Bora. It's been more than 2 years since our last trip. I would love for Sabine to experience it before it's too late.

Can't wait to get that much coveted tan!!!

PAL Express

I think my prayers have been answered! One of the biggest ironies in my life is this : I love to travel but hate to fly. I know that sounds strange but I can name a few other people who probably feel the same way. I've always been terrified of turbulence and air pockets. As a child, my Dad would always check on me everytime the plane bounced around and he would always find me crouched in my seat, pale and almost teary-eyed. It doesn't matter where I'm going or what type of aircraft I'm in. But the smaller ones are really killers! I rode Asian Spirit from Caticlan once and I swore I would never do it again. The small plane bounced from Caticlan all the way to Manila and I think I would've suffered a nervous breakdown if I had to go through it alone.

But DH refuses to take PAL going to Boracay. Sayang daw the time spent on the road from Kalibo to Caticlan. He has a point. But I'd rather waste all that time in the bus than be tortured inside a small plane. We've argued endlessly about which airline to take on our past trips and he always won (he pays, that's why). I've always wished that PAL would buy smaller airplanes so it can finally fly to Caticlan instead of just Kalibo.

FINALLY!!! PAL Express is the answer to my prayers! They now have a new fleet of aircraft, small enough to land on Caticlan's airstrip and I heard the planes are new. I know, I know...small aircraft pa rin. But my confidence level in PAL's pilots has always been high up there. They're really the best, if you ask me.

Can't wait to try them out on my next trip to Bora (which is supposed to be sometime in December...if my DF stays true to his word to treat us hahaha!). Keeping my fingers crossed!
