Sige Lang ng Sige! - a fun filled day with the SoMoms and Breeze

You can just imagine how thrilled I was upon being invited to this summer get-together last week. It was a holiday (Araw ng Kagitingan), Anissa didn't have anything dance-related to do that day and Sabine is forever attached to me anyway so off we went! Sadly, N had to stay behind to work and do something for Mama, so it was an all-girl thing we had.

The event was the first #SoMoms #session for the summer. It was sponsored by no less than Breeze.

My girls and I were early. I didn't want to be late and I didn't know what to expect traffic-wise because we are not Southerners hihihi. The drive to Nuvali was a breeze (no pun intended) though, that's why we got there in no time, even with a stopover for breakfast at Starbucks Magallanes.

We had a quickie and casual photo session with Lawrence del Mundo (the camwhore -- that's me -- can't wait to see the photos!)

Pretty soon, Sabine got into the groove of things. My Masterpiece Movement, that's Teachers Anna and Kara, got the kids started on art and then yoga and music. My Oncologist says I should continue to take it easy so I didn't get into it like the other Moms did but I had fun sitting there and watching everyone, including my Sabine who was so into it.

Soon after, came the super fun part --- getting dirty! I'm not sure I said that right or if I should laugh at my OC self for doing so. But it was so much fun just hanging loose and not really caring about making a mess! #sigesamantsa

Teacher Kara took over and showed us all how much fun being dirty and messy can be. Spot the huge plastic sheet that she's sitting on and see what the kids are going to do with it in the succeeding photos.

And what we ended up with was this beautiful piece of art!

The requisite group photo, of course!

Standing L-R : Jackie of GoJackieGo!, Belle of Cruisin'
Mommyhood, Janice of MommyMundo, Candy of Corporate Housewife Mom, ME, Tin of Manila Fashion Observer, Christine of Mommy Journey, Jenny of My Mommyology. On the floor L-R: Marc of The Fatherland, Eliza of The Painter's Wife, Teacher Anna, Kris of OcMom in Manila, Cai of Apples and Dumplings, Teacher Kara and all our dirty, happy kids with their stained hands and clothes!

Am honored to have been part of this happy and fun day with all these wonderful mothers and their equally wonderful children. The #sigemom and her #sigekids absolutely enjoyed every minute! #sigesamantsa

AND AND AND ...

May I just say I was kilig to have brought home this huge pack of detergent?!  Yayay was so happy when she saw this!

Thank you, Breeze! Thank you, SoMoms! Super looking forward to next time because ang sarap maging #sigemoms with our #sigekids!!!

New World Makati's Unlimited Yum Cha

Dim sum lovers are in for a daily mid-day treat until May 31, 2013. New World Makati Hotel's fine Cantonese restaurant, Jasmine, is featuring unlimited servings of freshly prepared dim sum, handmade by the resident expert Chef Wong and his talented crew. Have a fill of sweet and savory steamed buns, succulent dumplings, crispy fried spring rolls, and baked delights, plus a choice of tea or soda for P660  nett per person. On the weekend, diners can opt to indulge and match the dim sum feast with a glass of sparkling wine for a total of P950 nett per person.

JASMINE is what the Chinese restaurant at New World Makati is called. New World Makati is the former New World Renaissance, which is the former New World Hotel. Whew. Did you get that? The last time I was there, the restaurant was still called Emperor Court.

Nini Icban, Director of Communications of New World Makati was our lunch hostess. It was such a satisfying, enjoyable experience --- one the SoMoms would like to have a repeat of very very soon!

And why? It's 'cause the per head charge for this particular promotion is --- are you ready to fall off your seat? Only P660 NETT. Yes, that's over P600 ONLY for unlimited amounts of dim sum. Unbeatable.

Pretty place settings

Not a tea drinker (coffee, yes) but their Jasmine Tea? I had several rounds of it.

That huge lighting fixture right above our table which was so hard to miss.

The special menu prepared just for us by their Cantonese chefs

I took this photo to show y'all what a feast we all had!

Spinach Dumplings

Your ever present Har Gao or shrimp dumpling

Shredded Radish Puff --- I liked this because I love radish

Pan Fried Chicken Bun --- another one I really liked. Lightly-toasted and crunchy.

Pork and Vegetable Dumpling

Other than the dimsum, we were also treated to these delicious specialities of the Chef. We were in for a much bigger gastronomic ride and we weren't even aware of it!

Cod Fish, Ginger and Leeks --- OMG the fish was soooo tender!

Bai Ling Mushrooms, Shrimp Mousse, White Sauce --- I love anything shrimp so this rated high with me, too

Wok Fried Beef Tenderloin, ginger, green peppercorn, spring onions --- Melt in your mouth beef!

I don't know why I even thought of skipping rice starting yesterday, when I knew I was going to have Chinese food. So naturally, that plan failed MISERABLY.

Fried Rice with Seafood, topped with Scallop Flakes --- I think I invented that name haha but those are all the ingredients in the dish hee hee!

Dessert was my favorite!

Mango Cream, Pearl Tapioca and Walnut Cookies

Towards, the end of our meal the two Chef Wongs made an appearance so we could meet and personally thank them for all the delicious food we just enjoyed.

The Unlimited Yum Cha promo of New World Makati is ongoing until May 31, 2013. You can avail of it daily during LUNCH. Again, the per head rate is only P660 Nett, and a glass of soda is already included in the price. If you feel like having champagne instead of soda, the price changes to P950 Nett.

You all still have plenty of time to catch this really great offer but I really wouldn't wait too long. I'm
still dreaming of everything we ate and already thinking of going back.

Call New World Makati at 811 6888 local 3338 for more information or to reserve a table.

Late Post : BYS Make Up 101 Workshop

Eeeeeek! Late post nanaman! Sorry, I blame it on my "here today, gone tomorrow" hard drive which I really really need to replace very soon, if it doesn't get its act together.

If you've been reading my blog entries for quite sometime now, what's my favorite kind of cosmetic? What? What? It's lipstick! What's my least favorite? Eyeshadow! It's 'cause I'm not talented in this department, except for the eyebrows because I had to learn to do them when I was young. Anyway, I do appreciate make-up, I'm just not a junkie.

I recently got invited by the SoMoms (what an honor!) to BYS Philippines' Make Up 101 event which I gladly went to without hesitation. I am so glad I accepted!

I failed to take a photo of my own invite so I stole these from Jackie hee hee!

The kabuki brush is one of the best I've tried (not that I've tried a hoard of them) because it's really soft and fluffy yet picks up pigments quite well. This brush has earned a place in my make-up kit that goes with me everywhere.

Look at how late this post is hehe!

So anyway, here are my own photos, taken on that really fun and noisy day

You can tell it was a hands-on thing? We each had our own "dresser" and train case for the entire session. So well-prepared.

What was inside the train case. Lots of interesting things to try out.

I'm never without powder and blush, just the basic stuff for me. I was excited to give these a try.

As expected, the Medium is my shade in the Matte Foundation. I've since given this bottle to Anissa because she needs it more during her dance performances and we happen to have the same skin tone, more or less. But I was able to use it once or twice and I was happy with the finish.

Another BYS product I really ended up loving after the session was this --- their slanted brow pencil. I zeroed in on the Brown shade for myself when I bought my own at the BYS make-up counter in SM.

What color is not here? This palette can very well be the only one in my stash, since I don't wear shadow everyday. I've seen this at their make up counter and it costs less than P1,000. Value for money!

A shot of the front row. Just look at how involved everyone was. It was really so much fun.

Beauty blogger, Lee Shen Gee of Shen's Addictions was there to share her expertise

Here I am with Shen, Michelle of MyMomFriday and Jackie of GoJackieGo!

Aside from added knowledge, a desire to run to SM Dept Store to grab more BYS cosmetics (haha!) and fun memories, I also went home with this loot

Lotsa yummy stuff in there!

Thank you BYS Philippines, for an enjoyable and insightful morning!
