Remembering our dearly departed

As a child, I remember spending Nov 1 every year at the Manila North Cemetery where my paternal grandparents and baby brother are buried. When my maternal grandfather passed away, we would take turns going to Bulacan where he was laid to rest. For the past 2 years though, I've been going with Neal to visit his Mom and Dad in Himlayang Pilipino.

But even if we've skipped spending an entire day hanging out in the cemetery, there's one tradition I haven't forgotten. Every year, I still light candles on my doorstep to honor my loved ones who've passed on. Sabine was awed and sat down on our pebble-washed garage for the longest time trying to figure out what was going on.
