It was high time we got together again
I miss coffee breaks, lunch outs and post-work dinners with these ex-colleagues
turned good friends
Our venue of choice for this much looked forward to lunch date was Barcino in Rockwell
For the most part, we had the place all to ourselves
Perfect for the "chica" fest!
In between bites of these
Bread Basket (that's Tomato Salsa for dipping)
Chorito Picante Frito (spicy)
Croquetas de Marisco (Crabmeat Croquettes)
Shiitake con Jamon (Grilled Shiitake Mushroom, Jamon Serrano with smoked pepper sauce)
Gambas al Ajillo - favorite! (Spicy Shrimp in Garlic Oil)
Morcilla Y Setas (Spanish Blood Sausage w/ Shiitake Mushroom)
Maya Maya A La Vasca
(Light creamy medley of fish, eggs, green peas, clams, asparagus,
parsley and garlic in Veloute sauce)
Ailene had this ... so I don't know what it's called :)
The food was definitely more than enough
We capped it all off with coffee and more "chica"
But, alas, I was the only non-employed one in the group and the girls had to rush back to reality soon after. Too soon, if you ask me.
